Enjoy your delicious lunch aboard while the ship cruise to Pakokku – a small town situated on the western bank of Irrawaddy river which is famous for the making of traditional Burmese tobacco - cheroot. You can see the longest bridge of Burma – the Pakokku bridge from far away.
Upon arrival, the exploring trip around the town will begin. First, we will visit some industries making the cheroot and Burmese slippers. Then, head off to the bustling market to get an insight into the local trading activities. As the most well – known product of Pakokku is the cheroot, you can buy it here among a wide range of interesting local items.
Next, we pay a visit to Shwegu Temple which is known for the elaborate architecture of the Yamanei wood carvings and a stunning seated Buddha statue inside. After that, head back to the ship to have lunch and then we will continue to navigate to the highlight of the itinerary - Mandalay.
A special event called “A toast to the past” will take place in the Kipling’s Bar when the sun starts to cast its orange glow over the river. After that, find a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy a cup of tea before returning to the ship for lunch.
Continue to cruise to Mandalay. You can see the splendid Sagaing Hill standing magnificently on the bank of Ayeyarwaddy river. The greenery hill is dotted with hundreds of white and golden – top stupas making it a significant landmark near Mandalay.

You will be transferred to the quay of Mandalay to embark on Anawrahta cruise at around 12.00am. After a welcoming party, settle at your stateroom and unpack your stuffs. The ship then starts to cruise towards Sagaing Hill while lunch is served at Hintha Restaurant.
When reaching to Sagaing Hill, the shore excursion will start with a visit to Ava. Being known as the capital of Myanmar from 14th to 19th centuries, Ava has some outstanding monuments that worth visiting. A horse carriage tour around the city includes the following attractions: Bagaya Kyaung – a stunning teak monastery constructed in 1834, Maha Aung Mye Bonzan Monastery and the beautiful architecture and art of the watch tower Nanmyint. It will be nice to have a cup of tea here in this scenic surroundings before going back to the ship.

The tour around Bagan will start with a visit to the bustling Nyaung Oo market - a truly authentic Burmese bazaar where local people all around Bagan gather selling their products. This is a great chance to experience the local life as well as to save great photos to your collection. Afterwards, we will a pay a visit to the shimmering Shwezigon pagoda which is one of the most popular attractions in the plain of temples. We will visit a lacquerware workshop next to learn about the history and the procedure of making this wonderful items. The last stop of this morning trip is the Wetkyi – In Gubyaukgyi Pagoda to contemplate an impressive collection of the splendid frescoes inside the construction. Back to the ship for lunch.
There are two options for the afternoon excursion for you to choose. The first is to visit the nearby Mount Popa monastery. Located in a unique location of an extinct volcano, the monastery is said to worship the Burmese animist spirits – the Nats. Our excursion today will start with a walk around Maukkadaw village. The old teak enterprises will be our first stop. They belong to the time when Maukkaudaw is still a busy teak port. Lunch will be served on board. And when the ship arrive at the shore, we will make a tour around the area. Meeting with the people, trying making a pottery product or getting to know about the story of the village are some of the most interesting things to do.
Return to the ship for the next journey to Pakokku. Enjoy a cup of tea and the breath – taking sunset aboard of Anawrahta cruise. An event called “A toast to the past” is also prepared for guests gather around and talk about the Burmese in the old days.
Hintha Hall is where you have your dinner. And if the weather permits, an open – air cinema will be set up on the sun deck.

A yoga session on the sun deck is a great way to start your day with full of activities. Then, enjoy your breakfast on board while the ship keep cruising for a few miles to Pakokku – a riverside village which is famous for the cheroot – Burmese cigar manufacturing and Burmese flip flops.
Upon arrival, we will explore the cheroot and slippers factories in the area to know how the products are made. Next, a visit to the local market is an interesting choice for this day tour offering a wide range of local items from daily supplies to souvenirs and chances to interact with local people.
And after visiting Shwegu Temple which owns the sophisticated decorations of Yamanei wood carvings and a gorgeous Buddha statue, we will return to Anawrahta cruise and continue our voyage to Bagan.
Arriving at the destination in the early afternoon.
Take your time to explore the magnificent of the temple plain of Bagan with more than 2,000 red brick constructions dotted in the massive area. You can pay a visit to some of the most beautiful stupas here like the stunning Sulamani pagoda or the marvelous Ananda temple. When the day comes to an end, enjoy the magical sunset over Bagan on the top of a pagoda.
Head back to the ship to relax after a busy sightseeing day. Enjoy a performance of the traditional Bagan dance at the Mandalay Lounge that followed by a gourmet dinner. And if the weather allows, an open air cinema on the sun deck will give you a remember night with a good movie.

ANAWRAHTA CRUISE POLICY
1. Alteration of schedule and cruise itinerary
Though every effort will be made to ensure that the published itinerary is followed as closely as possible, given uncertain river and other local conditions, all schedules and itineraries maybe subject to alterations and delays at short notice.
2. Deposit
2.1. For booking with less than 05 cabins
If a booking is made more than 70 days prior departure date, a 30% deposit must be made at the time of booking. Balance must be made at least 70 days before departure.
If a booking is made less than 70 days, full fare payment must be made within 48 hours.
2.2. For booking from 05 cabins and more
Please contact our sales team for group rates (charters, group, and series). Different inclusions may apply for GIT bookings.
3. Cancellation by us
In the event that we are unable to provide cruise services to passengers with confirmed bookings or departures where occupancy is less than 5 cabins, Anawrahta Cruise reserves the rights to cancel the journey giving all passengers with confirmed bookings 30 days prior notice of this intention. An alternative cruise vessel (similar itinerary and ship category) or an alternative departure date will be offered subject to availability. Any surcharges or difference in cruise prices will be born or reimbursed by Anawrahta Cruise. If this alternative date or the alternative vessel is not acceptable to the passenger any down payments made for the cancelled cruise will be refunded. In the event that a passenger has cancelled and paid cancellation fees and Anawrahta Cruise subsequently cancels that departure then any cancellation fees (and down payment) will be refunded in full on the request of the passenger.
4. Cancellation by Customer
If you want to cancel your booking, you must inform us via fax or email. E-mail cancellation or booking amendments are only effective once re-confirmed by us. The followings cancellation charges will be applied:
4.1. For booking with less than 05 cabins
Cancellations made 185 days or more before departure: 5% charge of total price
Cancellations made 184 to 70 days prior to departure: 20% charge of total price
Cancellations made 69 to 35 days prior to departure: 55% charge of total price
Cancellations made less than 35 days prior to departure or no show: 100% charge of total price
4.2. For booking from 05 cabins and more
Cancellations will be applied according to the condition of group booking. Please contact our sales team for further information.
*In the event of cancellations, wire fees and credit card commissions will be deducted when calculating refunds.
5. Child & Third Person Policy
Anawrahta Cruise allows children above 5 years old on board (contact us for special permission for infants below 5 years old).
a) Maximum one child between 5 and 12 years old per cabin sharing bed with parents
b) From 5 to 12 years old special child rate applies:
- Child share existing bedding pays 25% of the net rate per person (double occupancy).
- Child sleeps on extra bed pays 30% of the net rate per person (double occupancy).
c) Above 12 years old adult rate applies and has to occupy extra bed if available and pay 70% of the net rate per person (double occupancy). Extra bed available (all cabin types).
d) Maximum three passengers per cabin are allowed
NOTE: Children are only allowed on board in accompany by an adult. Anawrahta Cruise is not responsible for the safety on board of children. Parents are fully reliable for their children and have to supervise and police their children at all times.
6. Insurance
We strongly advise travelers to purchase trip cancellation insurance. In this case, guests will be reimbursed the cost of air tickets and other non-refundable trip payments. We also highly recommend guests to get international medical, baggage loss and delay insurance in the case of bad situations. Anawrahta Cruise will take no responsibility for lost or stolen personal belongings.
7. Dietary needs
For travelers with special dietary needs, they should contact with us at least 30 days prior to embarkation. The cruise liner will make the outmost effort to provide special dietary needs and requests basing on product’s availability.
8. Travelers’ responsibilities
All the travelers taking the cruise should take responsibilities towards their fellow passengers and the crew of the ship. Travelers should review the conditions of the trip itinerary and have a proper social behavior with fellow passengers and crew members. They should observe all the safety requirements on board and on excursions.
