» GOOD NEWS FOR TRAVELLERS - VISA ON ARRIVAL & VISA FEE:
For citizens from ITALIA, SPAIN, AUSTRALIA, GERMANY, RUSSIA, and SWITZERLAND: Travellers can apply for a Myanmar visa on arrival at Mandalay, Yangon and Naypyidaw airport with the fee of $50USD. The validity lasts up to 30 days from the date of entry. (Apply from 1st October 2019 to 30 September 2020)
For citizens from SOUTH KOREA and JAPAN: Visitors are allowed to enter Myanmar without paying any visa fee. (Apply from 1st October 2018 to 30 September 2019)
For citizens from CHINA, MACAU and HONG KONG: Travellers can apply for a Myanmar visa on arrival at Mandalay, Yangon and Naypyidaw airport with the fee of $50USD. The validity lasts up to 30 days from the date of entry. (Apply from 1st October 2018 to 30 September 2019)
For citizens from other countries, there are 2 ways to apply for a Myanmar visa: via the embassy and via the website of Myanmar Immigration (evisa) in which the online visa is more preferable. Below is the necessary information that you should keep in mind.
EVISA PROCEDURE - GUIDE AND TIPS
1. Validity
Tourist visa validity vary from circumstances.
You can stay 28 days continuously from the date of arrival in Myanmar.
Ordinary passport holder of these countries is giving visa exemption:
- 14 days staying: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam.
- 30 days staying: Singapore.
2. Myanmar eVisa:
What is eVisa? eVisa is an electronic visa which is able to apply online. It is a quick process and citizens of 101 countries can apply for an eVisa process (see the list below). eVisa policy is different in each country. In Myanmar eVisa, pay attention to these notifications:
- The validity of eVisa approval letter is 90 days from the issued date. If it is expired, entry will be denied.
- EVisa is an only valid for a single entry. If you re-enter, you need a new one.
- EVisa service is not refundable.

» Evisa for children:
♦ Children more than 7 years old apply for eVisa, their guarantees have to apply individual information data form for a visa.
♦ Children under 7 years old can travel to Myanmar without e-visa if they satisfy these requirements:
- Children have to travel with their parents or their guarantee.
- Children information is applied in their guarantee passport.
- Children information is added in the guarantees eVisa.
- No permission paper will be denied to enter the country.
3. Document needed to get a Myanmar Visa
- Passport validity must have at least 6 months till it expired.
- One color photo (3,6cm x 4,8cm) of the last 3 months must be uploaded.
- Visa, master, American Express or JCB credit card for 50 USD payment.

After apply for evisa application in the link above and the payment is made successfully:
- You will receive an email acknowledgement within 1 hour after successful payment.
- The processing time is up to 3 working days (Burmese time) for normal Tourist Visa, and 24 hours for Tourist Visa Express Service. Processing time starts when the application acknowledgement email is sent, after application is accepted and online payment is successful.
- If the applicant has children under 7 years old on the same passport, you have to put the name of that child, date of birth in the minor section of the application form.

5. Getting Myanmar visa from an embassy
You will receive your visa after few days apply at the Myanmar embassy in your country. If not, you can come to Myanmar embassies and consulates and addresses to get a visa.
You could get your visa at one of the most likely places: Thailand, either in Bangkok or Chiang Mai. The process in Bangkok is straightforward:
- The visa section at the Myanmar embassy in Bangkok is open from 9am to 12pm (at noon) for applications and closed at weekends.
- Tourist visa costs 1600 Thai baht (around $49USD. Rate can vary. Check again at https://www.xe.com/). Needs extra fee for faster process and done in day completion requires you to show plane tickets to Myanmar within 24 hours.
- You will need two passport photos and a photocopy of the photo/personal details page of your passport. For same day visa completion, you will also need to show your plane ticket to Myanmar.
- Visa is picked up from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
